An essential piece of equipment for the sound and audio installation engineer,
the dBbox allows monitoring, metering and generation of both analogue
and AES/EBU audio from a pocket sized box.
The dBbox includes a simple soft key menu driven interface to make any
test as simple as possible.
dBbox features include:
Monitor line level analogue inputs using the built in speaker or headphone
outlet. Meter using either PPM or VU scale.
Monitor microphone level analogue inputs, with or without phantom power,
using the built in speaker or headphone outlet.
Meter using either PPM, VU or dBFS scale.
Monitor AES/EBU balanced or unbalanced inputs using the built in speaker
or headphone outlet.
Meter using -18dBFS, -20dBFS, PPM or VU scale.
Analyse sample rate, status and data errors.
Generate analogue tone with a choice of frequencies and levels.
Use the built in microphone to talk to line output.
Send an external mic to line output with level adjust and phantom power.
Generate AES/EBU tone, balanced or unbalanced output , with a choice of
frequencies and levels. Send to left/right or both outputs.
Use the built in microphone to talk to AES outputs.
Send an external mic to AES outputs with level adjust and phantom power.
Phantom power test with voltage read out. Also useful for checking 2 wire
talkback power.
MIDI receiver identifying channel, note on/off and note number.
MIDI transmitter.
Intelligent power control to extend battery life. The dBbox automatically
switches off all electronics not required for the current task. A dynamic
battery level indicator shows if you have enough battery power for a selected
function.
Switchable backlight.
Update software on-line using the dBbox USB port via CTP Systems web site.
Beltclip fitted on rear.
Protective case available with belt mount.
FAQ:
Does the dBbox decode/listen to embedded audio?
We would like it to but in order to keep the price down to an affordable
level and make it fit into a pocket size box it's just not possible.
Why doesn't it come with a battery?
If it comes with a battery we have to comply with a massive raft of E.U.
directives and costs under the 'Waste batteries and accumulators regulations
2009'. It would cost us fifty times more than the cost of the batteries.
We would have to pass the cost on which would be pointless. Cheers to
the E.U.
Why is the headphone socket not on the side and why isn't it 1/4 inch?
This box is absolutely loaded with surface mount electronics. It won't
fit anywhere else within the box. That's also why it's not 1/4 inch. We
did quite well to fit it in at all.
Why
doesn't it come with a USB cable?
We've all got loads of them in the drawer...somewhere.
It would only add to the price. If you really need one we can supply.
